Cindy J. Peddicord, 63, of Little York, IL passed away at 9:21 pm, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth, IL.

Cindy was born July 2, 1956 in Little York, IL the daughter of Charles William & Emma Harriett (Lewis) Toops.  She was raised and educated in Little York, graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1973.  She later attended Carl Sandburg College receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Cindy married Jerry Peddicord in Fort Madison, IA on October 21, 1988 and he passed away July 3, 2003.

Cindy worked as CNA at Pinewood Nursing Home in Monmouth for several years.  She later did child daycare from her home until her recent retirement.

She was a member of the former Little York United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed playing board games and playing cards with friends.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching Creature Features. Cindy’s true love was spending time with and taking care of her family and her dogs. She treasured the time spent taking care of the many children under her care from the Little York area.

Survivors include her daughter, Stevie (Tim Rhoads) Peddicord of Little York, IL; her nephews, Bill (Roxy) Toops of Kirkwood, IL, Trent (Jamie) Avery of Cameron, IL; nieces, Taelor (Jim) Elliott of Monmouth, IL and Donna Hunter of WI; several great-nieces and nephews along with her extended children that she took care of and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Dixie L. Avery and brother, Herbert W. Toops.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Monday, July 6, 2020 at Little York Cemetery, Little York, IL. Friends may call at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL on Sunday, July 5, 2020 after 2:00 pm where her family will be present from 4:00-6:00 pm. Memorials may be given to TAPS, Pekin, IL or the Little York Fire Department. Due to COVID-19 restrictions all social distancing practices will be observed during the visitation and graveside service  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
