Monmouth Fire Department gives advice to ensure a safe Fourth of July

Share

With the excitement of the Fourth of July approaching, the Monmouth Fire Department recommends these safety measures regarding the use of fireworks and sparklers:

“Have a bucket of water near by, do it with adult supervision, away from the houses, and away from dry grass. Should be okay if you follow those guidelines,” said Casey Rexroat.

Even with city firework shows canceled, fireworks are illegal in Illinois.

With the fourth, comes grilling as well. Keeping grills at least 10 feet away from the house and regular cleaning can prevent accidents.
