The City of Galesburg crowned its 2020 Men’s All-City golf champion over the weekend. David Blake won his 2nd title in two years after shooting a 2-under par 70 at Soangetaha Country Club yesterday in the final round to score a 3-round total of 213. That was ten strokes better than runner up Mike Tapper and eleven shots better than 3rd place finisher Noah Benbow. After Ben Olson took a first round lead on Friday after carding an even-par 71 at Lake Bracken Country Club. Blake took the lead after the second round at Bunker Links was completed on Saturday. Blake blistered the course with a 71. That score gave him a two-stroke lead over Olson and Mike Tapper heading into Sunday’s final round. Olson would finish 4th in the tourney with a 225 total. The back-to-back championship was the first repeat winner of the All-City tournament since 1998-99’s champ Adam Turner.

Blaine Spivey is also a repeat champion in the Super Senior division, leading following every one of the tournament’s rounds and carding a 3-day score of 239.

The Senior Division championship was garnered by Jeff Jones’ 3-round total of 232. That was three shots better than 2nd place finisher Jeff Bivens.
