Mrs. Marsha Kay Jones, 78, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 1:26 am Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her home.

Marsha was born April 3, 1942 in Galesburg the daughter of William and Lois Horton Payton. She married Karl R. Jones on August 28, 1965 in Galesburg. After 49 years of marriage Karl preceded her in death on December 3, 2014.

Marsha is survived by her children, Christopher K. (Tracy) Jones of Evergreen, Colorado, Laura (Paul) Rohling of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Sarah (Rory) Jones-Sazama of Galesburg; her sister, Susan L. (Robert Hillyer) Brock of Galesburg and five grandchildren, Ryan, Lucas, Kylie and Benjamin Jones and Adeline Rohling. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a son, Owen Jones.

Marsha graduated from Galesburg High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from the Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Marsha worked for Dr. Crowell, Dr. Reed and Dr. Thomas Whittle as a surgical nurse and CNFA at OSF St. Mary Medical Center for 25 years. She was a member of the Covenant Church.

Visitation is scheduled for 10:00-Nooon Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, face masks will be required. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Knox County Humane Society.
