Shirley M. Kenney, 85, of Toulon, died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Galesburg, surrounded by her loving family and special niece, Kathy Caves.

She was born March 3, 1935, in Galesburg, the daughter of John and Edna (Bevard) Cooley.  She married Rolland C. Kenney on June 14, 1953, in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death July 12, 1992.

She is survived by a son, Jerry (Julie) Kenney of Toulon; two daughters, Sheryl Turnbull (Warren) of Galesburg and Diana Kenney Bradbury of Utah; six grandchildren, Jason Morse, Jamie (Sean) Storey, Rusty Shambaugh, Levi (Marcie) Carrigan, Adam Kenney, and Danielle Kenney; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Linda M. Morse on October 3, 1999; a brother, Tom “Bubby” Cooley; and several aunts and uncles.

Shirley spent many years helping Rolland on the family farm.  She later worked for the State Bank of Toulon for 18 years, working until she was 82 years old.  Shirley was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1953.  She was of the Methodist faith.

Shirley was all about her family, enjoying her children and grandchildren, and her shih tzu dogs.

Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jordan Knight officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Hospice Compassus, or Knox County Humane Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
