Freeman Willis “Bill” Snell, 77, of Pekin, formerly of Galesburg and St. Augustine, died at 5:21 a.m. Sunday, August 16, 2020, in Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria.

Bill worked in maintenance at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for 29 years before retiring.  He was a member of Galesburg Carpenter Union 360.  He was a locksmith and he enjoyed cabinet making as a hobby.  He was baptized a Jehovah Witness on June 1, 1991.  He was a member of the Regional Building Committee.

He is survived by a son, David Michael (Francine) Snell of Victorville, California; a sister, Sandra Kay (Charles) Watkins of Abingdon; step children, Deborah Ann Wilson of Bartonville, Alvina Kay (Chad) Britton of Pekin, and Alva LeRoy Watson III of Pekin; and seven grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman Eldon and Verla Marie Snell.

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2020 via Zoom.  For further information on attending, please call 309-343-2571.  His remains will be buried in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers it is requested that a donation be made to the Galesburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is handling arrangements for the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
