Wednesday, February 5th and Thursday, February 6th, all Monmouth College students and local community members are invited to audition for the production of Cinderella at Wells Theater. Associate Professor Theater Chair and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Vanessa Campagna, highlights the Whitney Houston version of Cinderella to be performed:

“What I really like first and foremost, is the way that the production advanced color-conscious casting. Prior to the pop singer Brandy playing the role of Cinderella in the late 1990s, alongside Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, alongside Whoopi Goldberg as the Queen, we hadn’t seen a Cinderella of color. I think the theme in this particular adaptation is a lot about inclusion. For auditions, we have 8- to 12-year-olds at six o’clock, community members 13 to 18 at seven o’clock, and then all Monmouth College students and community members ages 19 and up at 8:15 pm.”

A short vocal selection from the show will need to be prepared. Performance dates for Cinderella are April 24th
through 27th.
