Illinois High School Athletes Taking Return to Sports Case to Capitol

Share

High school athletes are taking their case to return to sports to the Illinois Capitol this weekend. There will be two hashgtag-LetUsPlay rallies on Saturday, one at the statehouse in Springfield and the other in Chicago. Kids and coaches say they should not be punished because of the coronavirus. Advocates say the numbers show it is safe enough to return to the field or court. The IHSA suspended football, boy’s soccer, and girl’s volleyball over the summer. The plan was to play the sports in the spring, though the hope is now to play later this fall.
