Marjorie E. Swanson, 95, of Monmouth, IL, formerly of rural Little York, IL, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.

She was born September 03, 1925 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Arthur H. and Nelle (Johnson) Swanson. Marjorie was raised and educated in Little York graduating from Little York High School in 1943.

Marjorie worked for Spurgeons in Monmouth for a time.  She then worked at the National Bank of Monmouth/Midwest Bank, first in the accounting department and later as the head teller until her retirement. 

She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth and the Martha Guild. She enjoyed travelling and sharing meals with friends.

Surviving Marjorie are one niece, Sharon (Don) Watkins of London Mills, IL; great-niece and nephews, David (Tonya) Watkins, Dawn (John) Cadwell, Daniel Watkins all of London Mills; great-great nieces and nephews Pearl, Ethan, Wesley, Jasmine, Koleen, Dakota and Jozaphine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister; one brother, John Swanson and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation will be accorded after the visitation. A private family interment will be in Monmouth City Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Marjorie E. Swanson Memorial Fund. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and requirements, all attendees are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
