State Rep. Dan Swanson Expects Confusion with COVID-19 as Flu Season Nears

74th District State Representative Dan Swanson says expect confusion with the COVID-19 pandemic with the onset of the traditional flu season upon us.

“I think we are going to see the flu season sitting in here in a couple of weeks and there is going to be confusion of is it the flu or is it COVID. We are going to see some numbers continue to grow as they have been. The mitigation plans, it is difficult to accept moving to the mitigation plans. We continue to ask Governor Pritzker for the science behind his number and the science for why is eight percent picked as the rolling number on consecutive days of positive testing. Just a lot of that that we can’t get answers on. I think the thing we are going to see most over the next several days or weeks is going to be the confusion of if it is COVID or the flu,” Swanson shares.

Currently our region has seen 8 days of increased positivity rates and 2 days of increased hospitalizations according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
