Pandemic Changed the Dynamic of Sunday Morning Worship

The delivery of Sunday morning worships has changed significantly during the pandemic. Pastor AJ Reynolds at Highpoint Church in Monmouth shared that in order to reach people; worship had to be changed to an online platform:

“If a church wants to reach people with Jesus, they have to go to where the people are at and in a pandemic, guess where they are at, they are on social media. They are on their computer. They are on Facebook. So, we have had to rethink the game. We had to rethink how we do online services and traditionally what that has looked like is you can go online and periscope in and have a window into what the service looked like. Instead of doing it that way, where churches have always measured church attendance as engagement, now what we are having to track is people commenting on Facebook, people following up with prayer requests on Facebook, people making sure that we know they are there, and how we can best serve them online,” Pastor Reynolds says.

Several other area churches have moved to online and Facebook live services including, Fairview Center United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, First Christian Church, and Maple City Baptist. On-air radio church services and Focus on the Family can be heard Sunday mornings on WRAM beginning at 8 am.
