VP of Behavior Health Services at Bridgeway Stacy Brown Says More are Engaging in Telehealth Substance Use Services

On the Mental Health and Wellness Forum on WRAM, Vice President of Behavior Health Services at Bridgeway Stacy Brown discussed an increase of substance use has been seen throughout the pandemic, but when switching to more telehealth communication, Brown says they have seen more people engaging and seeking assistance:

“One light in this with the difficulty in people being able to maintain their services is within substance use outpatient services, we really have seen people engaging. When we had to move to telehealth and tele-psychiatry like services, we actually saw a great number of folks who were involved in substance use services engaging in that more than you would think and more sometimes than in face to face, which was very encouraging. I think that people realize when you are trying to self-medicate, it doesn’t always work and you need to reach out for help,” Brown informs.
