Local Three Feathers Outreach Mission Extend Arms to those on the Dakota Reservations

Roseville native, Brad Beard, had a vision to serve those in need, which lead to the founding of Three Feathers Outreach and the mission to serve the Indigenous Peoples living on the Pine Ridge and Cheyanne River Reservations in South Dakota and Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota. DeYonne Farr shares how the organization has grown over the years:

“It all started with Brad Beard, he just felt the need that there should be something out there that he could help someone and he ran across the plight of the reservations in North and South Dakota. As a truck driver, he thought he could take things to them. It didn’t take him long to fill the first semi and he has been doing this now for eleven years and wanted to grow. Now we are incorporated and a 501c3, have a board, and committees. We have our own semi now, moving van, and we just purchased, with the help of the Fellheimer grant, a refrigerated truck. We take food, clothing, household goods, and furniture.”

Three Feathers Outreach will be hosting their first fundraising event Saturday May 4th and Sunday May 5th at the UAW Building in Peoria, featuring guest speakers, auctions, vendors, storytelling, food trucks, and a comedy show with Gilbert Brown from 6 to 7 pm on the 4th. More information about the event and organization can be found at threefeathersoutreachinc.com.
