Pandemic Continues to Present Monmouth College with Student Recruitment Challenges

Share

Last March and April, Monmouth College was in the midst of student recruitment and seeing record numbers of applications for the Fall of 2020. Like several colleges across the country, Monmouth College faced a daunting effect on recruitment due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, which continues to be a struggle explains President Dr. Clarence Wyatt:

“One of the biggest challenges in student recruitment is that for the Fall of 2020, the effect that the pandemic had on college enrollment across the board; about sixteen percent plus fewer students attending college in the fall of 2020 that had in the previous year. The virus has a dampening effect on student recruitment for the fall of 2021. The effects of the pandemic are going to linger with us in many ways for a long time.”
