WCHD Administrator Link Says Assisted Living Facilities Next in Line for COVID Vaccines

Share

The Warren County Health Department has been administering the COVID-19 vaccinations over the past 3 weeks for priority group Phase 1A.  The 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine has also been picked up and is ready for distribution to those who received the first dose. Administrator Jenna Link reports assisted living is next in line for vaccines:

“We are still in Phase 1A. We have kind of maxed out our frontline healthcare workers, so we are reaching out to our assisted living facilities here in Warren County. We are going to start doing their staff and residents. Rather than sit and hold the vaccine that we aren’t really supposed to use because we are not supposed to go outside of the 1A, the assisted livings fall into that 1A group. We have the staff and resources so we are going to get them started and get them protected.”

Link says they picked up the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine last week and OSF Holy Family Medical Center employees have been fully vaccinated as a result.  Link also reports the Monmouth Nursing Home and Roseville Health and Rehab have received vaccinations as well. Reminder that the Health Department will be doing a COVID19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday from 1-4 by appointment if you are in the PHASE 1A priority group.  Their number is 734-1314 to make an appointment.
