Mon-Rose Boys Basketball Coach Chuck Grant Says Team is Ready to Get Quarantine Over

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys basketball team had their IHSA-mandated seven practices in were getting ready for their season opening game against Payson-Seymour when a positive COVID-19 case put the varsity program on quarantine. Three games were either postponed or canceled. The Titans have went through the necessary protocols and are able to get back on the floor as soon as Sunday. Titan head coach Chuck Grant said it can’t come soon enough.

The Monmouth-Roseville boys will begin their season on Tuesday at home against West Hancock, who have a new head coach in Jeff Dahl. Dahl takes over for the highly successful former state championship coach Reno Pinkston. Pinkston resigned in April of last year after 29 years of coaching high school basketball, including over 600 wins and a 1997-1998 Class A state title with Nauvoo-Colusa.
