PCSN Coverage of High School Basketball is Back!!

Share

The IHSA sent out an email to members of sports media on Tuesday. In the press release, it stated that the IDPH had mandated that all media attendance at high school sporting events will be a local high school/district decision, meaning media will not be a part of, or counted against, the 50 spectator limitations. The IDPH also provided the interpretation that the 30-foot distancing rule from the playing surface could be exempted for media in need, such as photographers, radio or TV. But did stress that it would be a local decision by each school district as well. With spectator limitations currently in place, the IHSA has said that there has never been a greater need for sports media coverage of events.

High School basketball is back on the Prairie Communications Sports Network, Sunny 97.7 WMOI and AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM!! After a long hiatus, we look forward to bringing you coverage of all of our local boys and girls basketball teams. With winter weather always a factor and the current COVID-19 situation, there will certainly be changes to our broadcast schedule. Some will most likely be at the last minute, so tune into the WMOI/WRAM sports reports each day at 12:30 and 5:30 or online at 977wmoi.com for details on what games we’ll have on the PCSN.

Our first broadcast will come from Abingdon High School as we will broadcast the A-Town vs. Macomb boys basketball game on Friday, February 5th. The Sunny 97.7 WMOI pregame show is scheduled to begin at 7:15. That time could be altered due to the gymnasium sanitation process that will take place between the JV and Varsity game. You can also listen online at 977wmoi.com or download our free app from your Google Play or Apple App Stores by searching for WMOI.

We will also be at Monmouth-Roseville High School on Monday, February 8th. The Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls basketball team hosts the Macomb Bombers. Our Sunny 97.7 WMOI pregame show will start at 6:15.

The PCSN will be at United High School on Tuesday, Feb. 9th for the United Red Storm vs. West Central boys basketball match up. We’ll start the Sunny 97.7 WMOI pregame show at approximately 7:15.

We’d like to thank all of the local businesses that have chosen to sponsor our coverage of high school sports on the PCSN!! We couldn’t do it without you.
