Mrs. Sandra K. Madvig, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois died 12:10 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center, Galesburg.

She was born July 2, 1941 in Galesburg to Charles and Avana (Cooper) Norris.  She married Wayne Madvig, June 29, 1963 in Galesburg. 

Surviving is her husband of over 57 years, Wayne Madvig of Galesburg, two daughters, Ann (and Todd) Shumaker of Galesburg, and Christina (and David) Beams of Riverton, Illinois, a brother, Max (and Tricia) Norris of Modesto, California, a brother in law, Bob Harmison, two sisters in law, Joyce Norris and Phyllis Norris, five grandchildren, Nicholas (and Amanda) Shumaker, Matthew (and Kevin Coffey) Shumaker, Brittany (and Chris) Berg, Jonathan Beams, and Izaya Beams, and three great grandchildren, Mia, Bennett, and Bella.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bud Norris, Clyde Norris, and Richard Norris, and two sisters, Betty Harmison, and Donna Leutchtenberg.

Sandra graduated from Galesburg High School in 1960.  She worked for several area retail stores including, O.T. Johnson, Grants, Belscott, Osco, Jacks, JC Penny, and Bergner.  She was a supervisor at Shopko in Galesburg.  She was a member of the Covenant Church in Galesburg.  She was a member of the Women’s Circle and Bible study in her church.  She was a senior member of the Civil Air Patrol, Galesburg Composite Squadron.  Sandra enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. 

Private graveside service will be Friday, February 12, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Rev. Tom Ek will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the Covenant Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Those wishing to attend the funeral “virtually” may watch the live broadcast at 10:00 a.m. Friday on the funeral home’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Hinchliff-Pearson-West-Funeral-Directors-and-Cremation-Services-160333664037824.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
