Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 14th, 2021:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Kelci Shelton. In her first two games of her final season of high school basketball, Kelci has averaged 17.5 points per contest. The Blackhawk College recruit is also handing out 3.5 assists per game and hauling in 5.5 rebounds. Offense is not all for Kelci, she’s also averaging 5.5 steals per game, as well.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Cormaic Flynn. Cormaic has gotten off to as hot of a start as his team has. He’s averaging nearly 21 points a game for the undefeated Red Storm. Cormaic is also averaging seven rebounds and two assits per game, as well. Not just one dimensional, he’s contributing on the defensive end, leading the team in steals for the season.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Mady Reed. Mady has started her final year of high school basketball with impressive numbers for the undefeated Heat. In her team’s first four games, she’s putting up nearly 16 points a game. Mady has been money from the free throw line so far this season, going 20-for-28.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Eric Price. Eric averaged a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Silver Streaks most recent two games of their Western Big Six Conference schedule, both wins. He also made two important free throws in the final seconds of a non-conference season opening victory over Sterling.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Ashley Jones. The lone senior on this year’s Tornado squad, she is averaging 14 points a game. Ashley scored in double figures in each of the five games for A-Town to start the season, all wins by the Tornadoes.
