Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 21st, 2021:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jack Thompson. Jack exploded for 27 points in a West Central Conference win over Camp Point Central. It was a career-high for Jack and included two, 3-pointers and nine points from the free throw line. Jack had 12 points in a win over West Hancock earlier in the week.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Karragan Sperry. Karragan scored in double figures in a win over Lincoln Trail Conference foe, Wethersfield. Her scoring average for the week was just under ten points. Karragan seems to be hitting her stride and should be force to be reckoned for the final few weeks of the season.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jordan Roller. Jordan has been on fire lately, including scoring 19 points in a win over Annawan. Seven of those points were in the 4th quarter and he helped close out the victory by going 5-for-6 from the free throw in the final eight minutes. Jordan has scored in double figures in four of this last five games.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Lauren Livingston. Lauren filled up the stat sheet in two Silver Streak wins. She scored 18 points with six rebounds and shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter in a win over Quincy. The very next night, Lauren had eleven points and five rebounds with three, 3-pointers against United Township.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls basketball player, Brooke Pieper. Brooke poured in 27 points, ripped down 19 rebounds, handed out three assists and recorded five blocked shots in a win over Peoria Heights. That amazing stat-line included season-highs in each category.

Congratulations to all of these student-athletes!! Thanks to our AOTW sponsors, MC Sport and More, McDonough Telephone Cooperative (mdtc), Tompkins State Bank and Kehoe Eye Care
