Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 7th, 2021:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Connor Thompson. Connor exploded for 19 points against the much larger, class 4A Moline Maroons. Included in that points total was five shots from beyond the 3-point arc. He also scored 14 against Farmington later in the week.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Declan Flynn. Declan scored 22 points in a win against Stark County to start the week. He then drained four, 3-pointers and poured in 19 points in a victory over BPC. Better yet, Declan capped the week off with 33 points against Abingdon-Avon.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls bowler, Bindi Bailey. Bindi has consistently been one of the top scorers for the Lady Heat this season. In a match against a much larger Galesburg squad, she rolled a 3-game series of 471, which was tops on the Heat. Bindi also had the top single-game score of 173.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Jeremiah Babers. Jeremiah gave Streaks fans a glimpse of what they might see in the future last week. He scored in double figures in two of the three games his team played, including a career-high 18 points in a win over Quincy. In that game, Jeremiah was 4-of-5 from behind the 3-point line.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Easton Schisler. Easton filled up the scoresheet in every game last week for the Tornado boys. He scored in double figures in all three games. Easton also averaged nearly six rebounds and two assists in each contest, as well.
