The United Red Storm boys basketball team ended their Lincoln Trail Conference schedule with a record of (6-1). They fell two games short of a complete league schedule, due to the Galva and Annawan boys basketball teams ending their season early due to positive Covid-19 cases within their programs. The Red Storm will share the title with the Wethersfield Flying Geese, who did get to complete their LTC schedule with a record of (8-1). With both teams having one loss, LTC officials considered both schools co-champs. United defeated Wethersfield 71-66 in a head-to-head match up on February 19th. United’s only loss in league play came against Ridgewood, 66-58, a week later. United head coach Doug Dennison explained the process of how the decision unfolded and expressed his pride in his players
Dennison’s (14-2) Red Storm have one game left for the season and will travel to Biggsville to take on the West Central Heat and his long-time coaching friend, Mike Kelley, on Tuesday night.
