OSF HealthCare Holy Family Receives Donation from OSF Auxiliary

On Monday, April 12, 2021, the OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center Auxiliary donated a $20,000 check to Lisa DeKezel, interim president of OSF Holy Family.

“In 2020, despite a pandemic, our Auxiliary was able to gift $20,000 to OSF Holy Family and provide $5,000 in scholarships,” said Wendy Allaman, manager of Volunteer and Senior Services. “They work tirelessly year-round to help provide the very best patient and family experiences right here in Monmouth. Throughout the year, they work to raise funds to provide scholarships for area students who are entering a health care-related field, as well as provide funds for new and improved diagnostic equipment.”

In addition to supporting the hospital financially, volunteers at OSF Holy Family also give of their time and talents to serve within the walls of the hospital by providing patient transport, greeting those who walk through the doors with a welcoming smile and the information they need, transporting specimens and operating the Gift Shop, among many other various tasks. The services they provide help create the supporting and caring environment OSF works so hard to achieve and the sacrifice of time and energy on behalf of our volunteers is invaluable to the work we want to achieve.

Currently there are 130 active volunteers who serve within the hospital. The OSF Holy Family Auxiliary board consists of:

Mary Lyle, auxiliary co-president, escort chair, sewing club chair

Jennifer Miller, auxiliary co-president, gift shop treasurer, mail delivery chair, historian and OSF HealthCare advocacy chair

Karen Gibson, auxiliary secretary, logistics and awards chair, advisory counsel

Jan Sprout, auxiliary treasurer
