Amanda Mae Wells, 37, of Galesburg, died Monday, May 31, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Amanda was born November 20, 1983 in Galesburg, the daughter of Glenn Hammond and Brenda Sue Cotton.  Amanda married the love of her life, Nicholas Wells on May 1, 2021 in Aledo.  Amanda is survived by her husband, Nick of Galesburg; her mother, Brenda Clark of Galesburg; the man she knew as Dad, Allen “Butch” Martin of Galesburg; one son, Jeremiah Hammond of Galesburg; one daughter, Mackenzie Wells of Galesburg; sisters, Megan (Jack) Davis of Peoria, Kim (Leon) Schaefer of Aledo, Stacie Bendele of Charlestown, IN, Valerie (Joe) German of Abingdon, and Paula Martin of Charlestown, IN; brothers, Chris (Ashley) Hammond of Galesburg, Allen (Billie Jo) Martin of Abingdon, Wayne Schultz of Louisville, KY, Adam Schultz of New Albany, IN, and Robbie Crandall of Chicago, IL.  Amanda is also survived by two aunts, Paula Sargeant of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Jeanette Wenzel of Galesburg; her best friends, Heather Anders-Barrera, Becca Palmer, and Shauna Dotson; many cousins, nieces, nephews, a ½ brother and ½ sister; her Wells family; and her best buddy, Cooper.    Amanda was preceded in death by her grandma, Gloria Cotton and one brother, Shawn Paul. 

Amanda had worked at Gates Rubber Co, Blick Art Materials, and United Facilities.  Amanda always lived life to the fullest and had a smile that could light up a room.  She was the life of the party and loved to have family over for backyard BBQ’s.  She enjoyed listening to music, watching fireworks, and taking pictures.  She was known as a fashion diva and loved her makeup.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  No funeral services are planned.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
