In the course of their contact tracing investigation efforts, The Schuyler County Health Department (SCHD) was informed of a public exposure to COVID-19 at The Crossing Camp in Rushville, IL from June 13th – June 17th. The Schuyler County Health Department is working with The Crossing Camp to provide guidance and to mitigate this situation related to the youth summer camp programs. The Crossing Camp is following CDC guidelines regarding
cleaning and disinfection of their facility. Any individuals (adults & children) who visited The Crossing Camp during the public exposure dates should get a PCR test for COVID-19 even if you have no symptoms, based on the recommendation from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

An updated list of symptoms reported among patients with COVID-19 includes mild to severe respiratory illness with fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of sense of taste and/or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Please remain vigilant about keeping germs from spreading by covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands with soap and warm water, and staying home when sick. If experiencing unmanageable symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath, call your primary healthcare provider.

SCHD strongly urges all residents to continue to wear cloth face covers if you are unvaccinated and practice physical distancing when in public for the health and safety of the entire community. You can also visit www.vaccines.gov to find the nearest place to get your COVID19 vaccine. Do your part and protect the health of your family and community member.
