G. William “Bill” Hawk

G. William “Bill” Hawk, age 87, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at
Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at
12:45 am. Bill was born on September 19, 1933 in Roseville, Illinois and
is the son of Clarence Mathew and Gertrude Irene Ross Hawk. Bill was
raised in Roseville where he attended local schools and graduated from
Roseville High School with the class of 1951. Bill first married Kay
Brownlee on January 18, 1953 at Sugar Tree Grove United Presbyterian
Church of Hale Township. She preceded him in death in 1989. He later
married C. Sue Smith Blackman on June 4, 1989 in Monmouth, Illinois and
she survives him. Bill has been a farmer in Warren County for his entire
career raising grain and livestock. He also served as a loan officer for
the Production Credit Association in Monmouth for seven years. He
retired from farming in 1996. Bill loved music and loved to go to dances
and dance with Sue anywhere they could. They also loved to travel and
have done so for twenty-two years in the United States and Canada. Bill
very much loved his family and was very much involved with his daughters
and grandchildren and their educations. He wished to see that they all
got their college educations.

He is survived by his wife, C. Sue Hawk of Monmouth, and three
daughters, Debra Kessler and Max of Beulah, Michigan, Nancy Wright of
Kickapoo, Illinois; and Alice Schreiner and Steve of Mint Hill, North
Carolina, three step children, Curt and Lisa Coburn of Peoria, Il; David
and Cindy Coburn of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Lisa and Bill Larkins of
Pleasant Hill , Missouri.  There are eighteen grandchildren, fifteen
great-grandchildren also surviving. Bill has two brothers surviving,
Elmer Hawk and Marybeth and Marvin Hawk and Diane, both of Roseville,
Illinois. He is preceded in his death by his parents, first wife,
Lavonne Kay, and one brother, Clarence.

A memorial service for G. William ” Bill ” Hawk is planned by his family
on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 10:30 am at Little Cedar Church in Little
York, Illinois.
 Memorial contributions may be made to either Little Cedar Church in
Little York, or Heritage Bible Church in Monmouth, Illinois. For more
