The Macomb Police Department took an initial report alleging an adult was approached in the Walmart parking lot and nearly abducted. After a thorough investigation, which involved interviews and searching video surveillance, investigators were able to determine the event did not happen as originally reported. There was no attempted abduction and no danger to the public exists. The patrol officers and investigators assigned to this matter were very thorough and professional, as they conducted preliminary and follow-up interviews, in addition to dedicating countless hours toward viewing surveillance footage. The Macomb Police Department tirelessly serves our community with equity, transparency, inclusivity, fairness, dignity, and respect. We investigate all matters thoroughly and in an unbiased manner. We value the safety and security of our community members and various stakeholders in our city. At the heart of every public contact is the dedication of every officer. Together we can accomplish everything.
