The Future of Monmouth College

Share

Monmouth College has completed the first phase of their new cycle of strategic planning with members of the college’s community in which seven stakeholder teams made up of faculty and staff, current students, trustees, alumni, and business owners of Monmouth convened and brought forth ideas on how Monmouth College can best position itself for the future. Associate VP of Communications and Marketing Duane Bonifer sums up the teams’ responses:

“Some of the highlights of them are continuing to be a place of high opportunity, high achievement for all young people. Not just for certain young people, not just for special young people, but all young people. Give them that opportunity to have the Monmouth experience and then give them an experience that prepares them to be successful in their careers. Someone once told me ‘in order to do good, you have to be well’ and so that is what I think this strategic plan is doing; making sure Monmouth stays well so it can continue to do good throughout the 2020s and throughout this 21st century.”

Other observations the teams presented for the college to consider were a three year college degree, more opportunities for community college transfers, offering college credits in high schools, and exploring other majors and career paths.
