JoAnn E. McIntire, 85, of Galesburg, died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born September 21, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Louis and Gladys (Lehman) Frericks.  She married Raymond G. McIntire Jr. on September 20, 1956, in Peoria.  He preceded her in death on March 14, 2017, after more than 60 years of marriage.

She is survived by four children, Raymond G. (Patty) McIntire III of Springfield, Tennessee, Cindy (Jay) Stone of Savannah, Georgia, and Lisa McIntire and Sue Ann McIntire, both of Galesburg; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Melvin (Shirley) Frericks and Robert (Jan) Frericks, both of Peoria and Donald (Cheryl) Frericks in Florida; a sister, Marjorie (Jim) Anderson of Peoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Frericks; and one sister, Judy Warner.

JoAnn was raised and educated in Peoria, graduating from Peoria Manual High School in 1953.  Before moving to Galesburg in 1969, she had lived in Vermont and Louisiana.  JoAnn was a homemaker.  She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Ladies of Mary.  She helped prepare and serve numerous funeral luncheons.  JoAnn was an excellent cook and will be remembered as an extraordinary woman and slot machine guru.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the MS Foundation in Peoria.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
