John Robinson, 75, of Alexis Illinois died at 4:33 P. M. Sunday, July 11, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born June 22, 1946 in Pittsfield, Illinois, the son of William and Edith (Wheeler) Robinson. John was the eighth of nine children, he was preceded in death by both of his parents and all of his siblings. He was reared and educated in Griggsville where he graduated from Griggsville High School in 1964. John married Sue Jaske in Chula Vista, California on October 11, 1968, where he was stationed at the time serving in the Navy. Sue preceded John in death. John was a professional truck driver, and retired from Roadway Express. John loved to travel and be out on the open road. He had an amazing sense of direction and knowledge of highways, his family often referred to his as a Human GPS. He spent his retirement traveling, camping, fishing, spoiling his grandchildren, and attending auctions. He was a devoted Catholic who always had his rosary with him wherever he traveled. One of his favorite activities in recent years was sitting on the back porch bird watching, he just loved pointing out different types of birds. John is survived by him and Sue’s three children and ten grandchildren, Chris (Shawna) Robinson & their two children, Cody Robinson and Bri Robinson, all of Las Vegas, NV; Tim (Vickie) Robinson & their two children, Ella Robinson and Lexie Robinson, all of Plainfield, IL; Julie (Robinson) McElhiney & her six children, Skyelar McElhiney, Gawin McElhiney, Leila McElhiney, Corin McElhiney, Abigayle Robinson, and Bethanye Robinson, all of Macomb, IL. John found love again late in life, and he is survived by his loving Fiancé Sharon Spears-Albright, of Waverly, IA who brought so much joy to his life over the last eleven years.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Wise Family Funeral Home in Alexis, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior where family will received friends. Burial in the Alexis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
