As part of Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order last week, all healthcare workers, higher education personnel, and faculty and staff for Pre-K through 12 educators are mandated to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19. United School District Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt says there has been a lot of talk with attorneys to establish their next move:

“We are in the process of kind of working through that to figure out what that means for those folks that aren’t comfortable with the vaccination at this point. There are some exceptions to the rule; there are medical exemptions, obviously, and there are religious exemptions. We are in the process of working through how testing could work to alleviate people being required to vaccinate too. A lot of talk with attorneys; a lot of talk with agencies, health departments in trying to figure out what our next steps are.”

Superintendent Whitsitt informs the district is currently awaiting a license to be deemed a testing site where Binex Testing can be utilized for Test to Stay within the district.
