Juvenile Charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding

On Friday, 09/03/2021 at approximately 10:24 pm, a Macomb Police Officer located an occupied stolen vehicle at Pierce St. and Lafayette St. following a police report filed by the owner. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver failed to yield. The driver refused to stop at the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop multiple times. Macomb Police Officers pursued the vehicle, in an attempt to stop the stolen vehicle. Officer terminated the pursuit at University Dr. and Pearl St. to prevent any risk to the vehicle occupants and the general public. Macomb Officers continues searching the area and located the abandoned-stolen vehicle parked in the 300 block of North Monroe St. Officers searched the immediate and adjacent areas and located the suspects on foot.

It was determined the occupants of the vehicle were a 13 year old driver and four passengers with ages ranging from 12 years old to 16 years old. The juveniles had been consuming alcohol and were charged with Consumption by a Minor and Resisting/Obstructing. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was not apprehended at that time.

On Thursday, 09/09/2021, the driver of the vehicle was located, identified, and taken into custody without incident. The driver is scheduled to be transported to the Mary David Juvenile Detention Center.

The driver was charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, No Valid Driver’s License, and Resisting/Obstructing.

All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
