After a year of remote learning and uncertainty of what the future would hold, area schools are back in session. With just a little over a month back in the classroom, the Regional Office of Education #33, MTC Communications, and WMOI/WRAM School Spotlight returns to bring attention to a teacher or program each month, highlighting the local school districts. For the month of September, the program in the School Spotlight is the Monmouth-Roseville High School band, led by Kyle Barshinger and Lisa Hallen:

The M-R High School band has already competed thus far, earning for the first time in school history the top spot in the Prime Beef Festival Parade and a third place in the first marching band competition of the year. The band heads to Geneseo this weekend and have two more competitions in October.
