W-H Farm Bureau Gets Area Youth Involved in Agriculture During Ag Days

Share

In an agriculture community, getting the youth involved and educated on farm safety benefits in getting more people familiar with ag operations. During a busy September, the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau held multiple ag days for area students, says Manager Gina Long:

“Our 4th Grade Ag Day this year was a success. We held it out at Fairview Center United Methodist Church. We had seven different stations that area fourth grade classes could rotate through and learn about corn, soybeans, farm machinery, soil and fertilizer, sheep, beef, and pork. Then at our 5th Grade Farm Safety Day, which we were able to hold at the Henderson County Fairgrounds, and they rotated through different safety stations. They went through ten different stations and learned about water safety, grain safety, animal safety, fire safety, seatbelt safety; just a multitude of different areas that we think are important for not only students, but teachers, the FFA members that are in their group, and honestly a lot of adults. It’s great reminders for us.”

The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau also educates tomorrow’s consumers on the truths about agriculture with Ag in the Classroom at the local area school districts.
