Rotary International has been serving the Monmouth community for the past 100 years.
Originally chartered in August 1918, the Monmouth Rotary Club adheres to several guiding principles that set the foundation for its purpose and direction, among them is “Service Above Self.”
Past President Bob Makiney, a 14-year member, explains what service to the Rotary has meant to him:
“Rotary has provided the opportunity to give back to the community through great projects to try to lift people up,” Makiney said. “It’s also … given an opportunity to build relationships, and friendships, with the outstanding members of the Monmouth Rotary Club.”
The Rotary’s next meeting is noon to 1 p.m. Monday, October 18th, at the Warren County History Museum.
Monmouth College Professor Emeritus Ken McMillan will be the featured speaker as part of the West Central Leadership Luncheon’s “Hearing From Our Own” series.
