The 12th annual West Central Leadership fall luncheon event — “Hearing from Our Own” — will feature a keynote presentation from Ken McMillan, distinguished professor at Monmouth College, former state senator and former chief speechwriter for the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.
Leadership board member Sean Cavanaugh explains why it’s important to hear from community leaders:
“When people come and talk about (leadership), it enables the rest of us listening that we can do similar things as well,” Cavanaugh said. “If we take a chance, or take a risk, or just jump head-first into whatever we’re doing … we can also experience those things, such as leadership, broadening your horizons.
“It’s important for people to know there are people in the community that have done great things and are willing to share it.”
Tickets for the October 18th Leadership luncheon — which will take place at the Warren County History Museum — are $15 and can be purchased at the Warren Achievement Center, Midwest Bank or the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.
