Forrest G. Easum, age 99, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 6:24 am on Friday November 26, 2021 at Courtyard Estates in Monmouth, Illinois. Forrest was born on October 30, 1922 in Clayton, Illinois and is the son of Elmer and Blanche Rampy Easum. Forrest was raised in Roseville, Illinois where he attended local schools and attended the Roseville High School. On August 8, 1943, Forrest married Mary Louise Galbreath in the home of her sister, Geraldine and Cleo Smith and they were married 76 years. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2019. Forrest was raised on a farm and farmed Grain and Livestock for 25 years in Warren County. He also worked for Warren County F.S. for 17 years as plant manager of the Rozetta FS, until retirement on January 1, 1985. He was a former trustee and was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Monmouth. Forrest also worked part time for several years at Tatman 1 Auto Sales of Monmouth. He and Mary enjoyed the winters they spent in Naples, Florida for some 25 years. Forrest was an avid Ipad user and he enjoyed reading, watching television, and NASCAR racing.
Surviving Forrest is his daughter, Nancy G. Easum of Springfield, Illinois, and his Nephew, Jerry Perrin of Eldridge, Iowa. There are several great nieces and nephews also surviving Forrest. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife Mary, and his daughter Vicky Ann Easum.
A funeral service will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 10:00 am. His family plans visitation on Monday evening November 29, 2021 at Turnbull Funeral Home where his daughter will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery next to his wife, Mary. A memorial fund is being established for Midwest BREW (Beagle Rescue, Education, and Welfare) and be left at the funeral home.
