Monmouth-Roseville Titan Girls Basketball Coach Scott Weber Gets Defensive of His Team’s Great Start

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls basketball team has gotten off to a great start this season at (5-0). The Titans won the ROWVA/Williamsfield-Ridgewood pre-Thanksgiving Tournament with a perfect (4-0) record. The girls followed that up with a 44-26 non-conference win over Ridgewood last night.

In their undefeated run to start the year, the Titans have given up just 32 points a game on the average. A highlight among their five wins, defensively, was giving up just 31 points in a 15 point championship win over a potent Abingdon-Avon offense. The Tornadoes came into the game averaging 63 points in three previous games.

Monmouth-Roseville head coach Scott Weber says it’s been a combination of things that’s allowed his club to be successful on the defensive end of the floor.

Monmouth-Roseville gets a little break before their next game. The Titans head to Port Byron on Monday night to take on a Riverdale Ram squad that’s (2-2) so far this season. The Lady Rams have played quality competition thus far, playing in the Galesburg Thanksgiving Shootout. Riverdale took 4th in the Class 2A state tournament back in the last full-season of girls basketball in 2019-2020.
