Carol E. Fox, 88, of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born January 22, 1933 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, the daughter of George C. and Frosie Amanda (Livingston) Rosenberry. She married John E. Williams on October 18, 1952 and they later divorced. She then married Roy Richard Fox on August 21, 1970. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and twelve siblings.
Carol is survived by her children, John E. (Cathy) Rosenberry of Prophetstown, Ellen Marie Williams of Greenville, Texas, Ken (Jean) Williams of Knoxville, Robert E. Williams of Peoria and John E. Williams, Jr.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a special niece, Linda Jennings of Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Donna C. (Charles) Onley of Toulon; one stepson, Stephen R. (Laura) Fox of Knoxville; and step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She lived most of her life in the Abingdon area. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed working in her yard, feeding the birds, crocheting and going to yard sales.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Danny Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the wearing of a face mask is suggested for those attending services.
