Susie E. (Jebb) Hickerson, 84, of Alexis, IL formerly of Monmouth and Little York IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

Susie was born August 13, 1940, in Aledo, IL the daughter of William and Dorothy (Stoner) Jebb.  She was raised and educated in Aledo, graduating from Aledo High School.

Susie married Paul F. Hickerson on December 7, 1960, in Little York, IL and he passed away on January 24, 2010.

She was a homemaker.  She also worked as an independent housekeeper and later worked at Legacy Estates in Monmouth before retiring in 2009.

She enjoyed watching Westerns (Gunsmoke/Matt Dillon), old TV shows, listening to Elvis, crossword puzzles, and having coffee with her friends. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed a good laugh, was very witty, had a great spirit, and a smile for everyone.

Survivors include her children, Howard (Debbie) Hickerson of Little York, Deanna Reno of Abingdon, IL, Tammi (Randy) Olson of Alexis, Karen (Dave) Thomas of Bloomington, IL, and David Hickerson of Alexis; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Paula I. Hickerson; son-in-law, Roger Reno; her three brothers, Clair Jebb, Richard Jebb, and Gerald Jebb; and special friend, Joe Shafer.

A gathering of family & friends will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Cremation will be accorded following the gathering with a private family interment in Alexis Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Cardinal Community Manor or the Orpheum Theater and sent to the funeral home.
