Eleanore “Ellie” J.  Young, 88, of Monmouth, passed away on December 21,
2021 at 4:05 pm. She was born on July 1, 1933 to Raymond and Eleanore
(Hackett) Quinn in New Haven, CT. She married Buford “Boots” Young on
November 15, 1952 in Frankfurt Germany.

She is survived by her son, William “Bill” (Cathy) Young; daughter, Tara
(Richard) Speck; five granddaughters, Sabrina Young, Jessica  Speck,
Erica Speck, Amanda (Jerad) Stanley, Megan (Derrick) Joiner; grandson,
Michael  Westman; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild;
two sisters, Catherine (Bob) Camp, Mary (Anthony) Cicarrelli; Special
cousin, John “Lucky” (Gloria) Quinn.

Ellie is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Buford “Boots”
Young, sons; Richard Young, and Joe Young; daughter Catherine (Cathy)
Young; one great-granddaughter Ireland C. Ault.

After High school Ellie served in the U.S. Army for two years. She
worked as a store demonstrator for over 25 years. She worked for OMC in
Galesburg for 12 years. Ellie had many part-time jobs over the years.
She loved being a mom, grandma, great-grandma and a great-great-grandma.
Ellie loved to bake, crochet and make scratches.

Memorial Mass will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at
Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, IL.  Friends may call from
11:00 AM-1:00 PM prior to the Mass at the funeral home. Inurnment will
follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the
Eleanore Young Memorial Fund.
