Georgia Lucille Mason, age 83, crossed into the afterlife in the early morning hours on December 6, 2021 at Courtyard Estates in Knoxville, IL. Georgia was born June 3, 1938 in Woodlawn, IL. She married Charles E Mason on June 17, 1955 and was blessed in marriage for 63 years. Georgia was honored to be a homemaker and wife to Charles, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Georgia is survived by three children, Anita (Michael) Mason, Charles Michael (Sandi Norris) Mason, and John (Bonnie) Mason. She has 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Georgia is also survived by two sisters and two brothers. Preceding her in death were her parents, Dorris and Maxine Faught, and two brothers.
Georgia was an excellent seamstress and spent many hours happily creating and sewing doll clothes. She gave a wonderful display and talk about her sewing hobby at Courtyard Estates. Georgia was also very creative and spent many hours decorating a beautiful large doll house.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Hinchliff Pearson West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 at the Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Betty’s Garden at Courtyard Estates in Knoxville, IL. The family wishes to thank Nikki Harrison, Cindi Perkins and the entire staff at Courtyard for their devoted care and love for Georgia. Her caregivers at Courtyard Estates became her adopted family and also always attended to the needs of her family.
