Michael “Mike” Bailey, 63, of Oquawka, passed away on  December 22, 2021 at 1:45 a.m. at his home in Oquawka, IL. He was born on June 1, 1958 to Raymond and Paula (Rhodes) Bailey in Burlington, IA. He married Debra Thomas on February 28, 1976.
He is survived by his wife Debra of Oquawka. His children; Chad Bailey, Chase Bailey and his fiancé Shelby, Shannon (Levi) Smith, Grandchilren; Caylenne, Harper, Renlee, Mavis, Dawson, Brothers Bob (Barb) Bailey, Jay (Sherry) Bailey, and sister Luann Walker, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jerry Bailey. 

He graduated Union High School in 1976. He attended a  Marine Tech School in Missouri. Michael worked as a Mechanic,and  he owned and operated Bailey’s Offshore Marine and Repair. He worked for Exide Batteries. He was a volunteer EMT and Firefighter for Gladstone and Oquawka. He served as President for Oquawka Ambulance. Mike was also a captain for the Henderson County sheriffs auxiliary where he served as a deputy.  
     
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home  in Oquawka, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:30am – 11:00am at the funeral home prior to the service. 
Burial will take place in the Oquawka Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Oquawka Ambulance Service . Online condolences can be given at http://www.turnbullfuneralhomes.com. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is in charge of arrangements.
