Monmouth Resident Asks City Council to Address Traffic Concerns on North 11th

Share

A resident from North 11th Street asked Monmouth City Council to consider placement of a stop sign or other traffic calming device on North 11th to help slow down the flow of traffic after a motor vehicle collision recently occurred in the area and the two cars ended up in his yard. Mayor Rod Davies says investigating as to what can be done at the intersection is underway:

“There was a fairly serious accident there on 11th Street and two cars ended up in his front yard. He had some concerns about that and expressed some concerns about speeding there on North 11th and actually asked Council to maybe consider placing two stop signs there on 11th Street by Euclid. We will see what happens with that. We will maybe try some additional enforcement in that area and put out our speed trailer and see if we can slow things down a bit.”

Meanwhile, a new officer was sworn onto the Monmouth Police Department. Officer Ethan Huston is a Warren County resident and comes to the department as a lateral transfer from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
