OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center has had a very busy year between the construction of a new emergency department, the opening of a Health Clinic on the Monmouth College campus, as well as, the addition of new healthcare providers bringing more specialized services to the Monmouth community, says OSF HealthCare Holy Family and St. Mary Medical Center Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Carrie McCance:
Ophthalmologist Dr. Auer also joined the team at OSF Holy Family performing cataract surgeries.
Back in August, OSF HealthCare launched their student health center on the Monmouth College campus. McCance informs the clinic has kept busy with over 600 appointments:
“Kari Bruening is the provider over at the Health Clinic there. Students have definitely taken advantage with the clinic since it opened in August. In fact, we have had nearly 670 appointments, so we have been really busy. At the clinic, we have held clinics for COVID-19 boosters, flu shots, and we are also treating a lot of cold symptoms. We have also been conducting a lot of COVID and flu tests over there. The clinic does everything that you would normally see in the urgent care setting.”
The clinic is open to students Monday through Friday, 9 am to 1 pm. Meanwhile, construction of the new 10,000 square foot emergency department at OSF Holy Family continues and is on target to be completed in mid-February. All healthcare appointments can be scheduled through OSF MyChart or by calling the Monmouth clinic at 309-734-1414.
