The Western Illinois University Marching Leathernecks will perform in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Ceremony and Parade Tuesday, Dec. 7 in Hawaii.

The parade and ceremony will honor WWII veterans and Pearl Harbor survivors, and will feature participants from nearly every state in the nation. Events begin at 4 p.m. Hawaii time (8 p.m. central time), followed by the parade at 6 p.m. Hawaii time (10 p.m. central time). The events will be livestreamed at pearlharborparade.org/home.

“Between the patriotic experience, performing music in this living memorial, to our veterans and the absolute paradise of a location, is the perfect dream of a trip for our students,” said WIU Associate Director of Bands Matt Thomas.

The Marching Leathernecks will perform at half-time of the WIU women’s basketball game in Western Hall, between 6:30-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, before departing for Hawaii.

More information about this and other events can be found at HistoricPrograms.org or PearlHarborParade.org.
