Alfredo Montoya Rubalcava, 58, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 6:15 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022 at his home.
Alfredo was born July 11, 1963 in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the son of Asuncion and Petra (Rubalcava) Montoya. He was raised and educated in Aguascalientes.
Alfredo married Joanna Cruz in Aguascalientes, MX on December 17, 1990 and she survives.
Alfredo worked as a production worker for Smithfield Foods in Monmouth, beginning in June 2021. He also owned and operated Los Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant in Monmouth. Alfredo was a skilled butcher, avid gardener and accomplished rancher. He loved to do DIY projects and had a passion for cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Joanna Montoya of Monmouth; his children, Diego Montoya of Chicago, IL, Vanessa Montoya and Alfredo Montoya both of Monmouth; 5 sisters and 3 brothers; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm, Friday, January 14, 2022 McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
