The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior basketball player, Charlie Fletcher. Charlie exploded for a career-high 21 points in a 17-point, TRAC West Division win over Morrison. He also got his teammates involved, handing out five assists in the game. Charlie contributed on the defensive end, as well, getting a couple of big steals.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Cormaic Flynn. Cormaic had maybe his best all-around game of the season in a narrow loss to conference-leading Knoxville. He poured in 32 points and ended the game with a double-double, hauling in 10 rebounds. Cormaic also handed out six assists and had two steals and a block, for good measure.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys bowler, Parker Brownlee. Parker had an oustanding day at the Abingdon-Avon Invitational at Abbe Lanes in Abingdon. He placed first overall in two categories. Parker had the highest single game with a 275 and also knocked down the most pins in a 3-game series with 650.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior wrestler, Dishon Neal. A Western Big Six Conference match against Sterling came down to the final match of the night to decide the winner. Dishon stepped up and pinned his Golden Warrior opponent at the 3:29 mark to give the Streaks the victory and set off a loud victory celebration.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys bowler, Treyce Brooks. Treyce must have liked the feeling of being at his home alleys. He finished in the top-10 in two categories in the Abingdon-Avon Invitational. Treyce’s single-game of 202 was good enough for 5th overall on the day and his 3-game score of 506 was the 8th highest of the tournament.
