Monmouth-Roseville Titan Girls Can’t Hold Onto Lead Against Rockridge

In varsity girls basketball action in the Shoebox at Monmouth-Roseville High on Thursday night, Rockridge beat the Titans for the third time this year, 53-42. The Titans played a great first half as they hung with the Rockets step for step. The Titans led after one 11-8 behind Carmyn Huston who scored 8. The Titans pushed their lead to 28-19 at the half as Huston added 12 more in the quarter. But as the first half belonged to the Titans, the second half would belong to Rockridge. The Rockets would outscore the Titans 34-14 totake control of second place in the conference. Leading the way for the Titans was Carmyn Huston who came back from illness to pour in 24 points. Also scoring was Mattie Gillen with 7, Lexi Finnicum 4, Belle Thompson 3, Mariah Reading 3 while Malia Killey and Brianna Woodward each had 1.
