The Monmouth/Roseville lady Titans bounced back from a rough couple of games to knock off the Sherrard Tigers on Thursday night at Sherrard. The Titans improve their season record to 16-3 with a 43-37 victory. This one was guaranteed to be a battle with both teams sporting impressive records and looking for their spots at the top of the conference. Both teams came out with intensity but the defenses were both solid and the first quarter would close with the score tied at 7. Lexi Finnicum put up 4 second quarter points but Sherrard would carry a 22-17 lead into the locker room. The Titans defense stiffened up a bit in the third as Sherrard was held to just 7 points and the score was 29-27 Sherrard as they started the final quarter. The Titans defense continued to suffocate the Tigers in the final quarter as they held the Tigers to just 15 second half points and Brianna Woodard and Carmy Huston combined for 9 of the Titan 16 points in the final quarter and the Titans had put an end to their losing streak. Leading the way for Monmouth/Roseville was Carmyn Huston with 12 followed in double figures by Mattie Gillen with 11. Also scoring was Lexi Finnicum with 8 while Belle Thompson and Brianna Woodard each had 6. The Titans will host Macomb on Saturday beginning at 1pm.  The game will be broadcast on WRAM AM 1330/FM 94.1 with the Varsity pre-game show at 2:00 p.m. following the J-V.
